Presentation 2: Screen Mockups from January 1999 Meeting
The following sequence of images is from a PowerPoint presentation that I (Dan
Suthers) gave at the January 1999 NetLearn meeting. There are two key ideas
here:
- We should try to embed the various of activities and information resources
in one workspace. This was intended to be contrasted with the approach
outlined in May 1998, where the various activities and resources would be
distributed in different "rooms" of a virtual "school".
- All activities have this basic form:
- we engage in asynchronous and synchronous forms of discussion
- these discussions are about artifacts of teacher and student
work
- they refer to and evaluate the work with respect to criteria
such as the Principles, their Indicators, and performance standards.
