Online Learning

In 1999, The Alfred P. Sloan Foundation awarded the University of Hawai`i with $405,000 to develop three degree programs as part of the University of Hawai`i's UH Online project. Dr. Suthers is a co-PI on this grant.

The grant supports the development of an online Masters degree program as well as many undergraduate courses in Information and Computer Sciences. It also supports a Liberal Studies undergraduate program in Information Resource Management.

The project involves system-wide collaboration among various University campuses to make ALN degree programs available to students throughout the state. The first set of courses were offered in Fall 2000.
