You gain some, you lose some!

or, changes in LILT staff ...

Welcome to Richard Medina , who joins LILT this fall semester from New Mexico. Richard is working primarily on the Collaborative Representations project, taking over responsibility for Belvedere from David Burger, but will also be coordinating with HNLC to integrate the technologies of the two projects and bring Belvedere knowledge mapping tools to more students and teachers.

Farewell to David Burger and Bruce Harris , both of whom are now programming for startup companies in Manoa. Lucky you no leave Hawai`i! Dr. Dan recruited both Bruce and David from his ICS 311 (Algorithms) course; they were excellent programmers who formed the core of LILT's team during our growth years.

The cover photo (below) was taken to celebrate the release of HNLC's newest version of hnlc.org. Missing is Ravikiran Vatrapu , who mysteriously disappeared when our photographer (Marc Le Pape) arrived. Hmmm...

Staff left to right: Front: Joyce Yukawa, Viil Lid, Vi Harada, Richard Medina. Rear: Paulo Maurin, Dan Morton, Sam Joseph, Josh Wingstrom, Dan Suthers.

Yes, we do occasionally use that 8.5' minitanker, though I normally use a 9.5' longboard that I keep at home, so the minitanker is there mainly to add some color to the lab and impress those who, sadly, must live on the mainland.
