Changes in Our Team

Wil Doane graduated with his Masters' degree last January. He programmed much of the original hnlc.org facilities, including the "story engine," unit template, resource database, and user account management. His thesis provided an initial evaluation.

In January, Sam Joseph joined as as a research assistant. He already has a Ph.D. in Neural Networks from Edinburgh and has worked in industry and university positions in Japan, but wanted to move to Hawai`i and strengthen his CS background. We are looking forward to productive collaborations together.

David Burger and Bruce Harris are graduating with Masters' degrees this May. They took Plan B and did a lot of programming on Belvedere 4.x and Alu, respectively. This is a traumatic departure: they have been with me from the beginnings of LILT's period of greatest growth.
