Hawai`i
Networked Learning Communites Summer Institute
LILT is a major partner in Hawai`i
Networked Learning Communities, a technology-supported
Rural Systemic Initiative targeted at improving science, math and
technology education in Hawaii's rural schools.
During June 24-26th 2002 we co-hosted with the Hawaii Department of
Education a meeting of over 50 DOE and school team leaders. During
the meeting we demonstrated the newly released HNLC
web site (www.hnlc.org), tested a prototype unit plan template,
and used our Kukakuka
software to support parts of the meeting process. User involvement
in software development is an important part of our strategy for making
the technololgy relevant to their needs.
The HNLC site has details on the Summer Institute
here.
