Animal Brains Exhibit no Neurofibrillary Tangles
Autopsied brains of ALS-PD patients exhibit a distinct pattern of neurofibrillary
tangles. This characteristic pattern is the outstanding pathological feature
of the Guam diseases.

In studies in which animals were injected with the amino
acid BMAA, neurofibrillary tangles (NFTs) never showed up in the animals'
brains. Chemist Peter Nunn used BMAA in clinical trials on rats and found that
there was no effect after 70 days.
